The new verb, Visionboarding

I feel like the most basic of basic people; I have a visionboard. Not only did I make a visionboard, I insisted my husband make one too!

Our New Year’s day included going through stacks of magazines to find the right images and words to glue to poster board. Trying not to feel like a serial killer, we cut out words like “balance” and “peace” and placed them artfully on a picture of the redwoods.

There is something about sitting down and intentionally setting goals that feels both powerful and privileged. I have the ability to vision a greater life for myself because I am lucky to have my basic needs met.

I am not wishing for enough money to buy food, or get gas, or worried about keeping my job. I am thankful for where I am, and must remember to use my privilege to help others where I can.
